The summer time festival combines the love of art and wine with the love of animals, a truly unique event that draws from near and far.
This year's event will feature artists displaying everything from fine jewelry to crystal sculptures to oils and watercolors, all with an animal theme. Artwork varies from the work of Christine Wilson who creates a gorgeous stained glass art piece from a picture of your dog to Robin Durnbaugh, a jeweler who creates a 14K gold necklace from your own dog or cat's nose imprint.
Various wineries will be out pouring wine beneath the stunning Squaw Valley peaks between 1pm and 5pm. Many of the wineries attending the event will also be animal themed, from Graeser Winery's 2002 Two Dog Vineyard Merlot to Mutt Lynch Winery's Unleashed Chardonnay. The rockin' band from Los Angeles, Kelly's Lot, will round out the festival will their eclectic mix of styles built on a Blues/Rock foundation.
Every dog deserves the chance to be a star and the dog lake jump competition held both Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 will let the mutts show off their stuff. Attendees can also enjoy the fantastic & fun Busy Bee Dog Show on Saturday and the informative Squaw Rescue demo on Sunday.
The silent auction/raffle will include much of the artwork and wine at the event with the proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe and Squaw Rescue Dogs. Throughout the day attendees can enjoy live music and events, dine, shop for art, or just relax and enjoy the fine wines from several renowned vineyards.
